BATTLE OF THE BINS
November 11 - December 2
Presented by Riverside High School
in partnership with Greenville County Medical Society Alliance
Riverside High's Cross Country Team and PTSA are partnering with GCMSA, YMCA Food Relief Program, and Veterans Are Heroes to help provide household items and weekly food boxes to 60 struggling military veterans and their families. The campaign will begin on Veterans Day and culminate with a celebration of our veterans at the first RHS home basketball game against Mauldin on December 2nd. Just like the upcoming rival football game over Thanksgiving weekend, you choose your favorite team to support when making your donation - Clemson or Carolina. Cash and item donations can be dropped in the appropriate "bin" each morning in the T-Mall or made online through the links below. We will announce the "winning" team at the game.

Your support of this program is greatly appreciated!
YMCA of Greenville began efforts to help relieve local food insecurity in 2020 when schools closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Food Relief Program has since grown from providing bags of food for 30 families to now over 200 a week, including RHS families. The program is staffed by volunteers, funded by grants and donations, and delivers food to families in hotels, homeless veterans at the VA Outpatient Center, residents at the Gateway House, and other families identified through Greenville County Schools, Upstate Warrior Solution, and Alston Wilkes Society. With the upcoming holidays and colder weather, we thank you for your assistance in keeping our struggling veterans fed, off the streets and into transitional housing.
